NEW DELHI - The tragic story must be experienced by a married couple in India. The husband was killed and his wife was in critical condition after a wedding gift exploded five days after the couple tied the sacred promise. In addition to the couple, the grandmother of the husband was also killed in the explosion.
The incident took place in the Odisha Bolangir district. The husband's grandmother was killed in the place when her grandson breathed her last in a hospital in Rourkela where she was moved after being seriously injured.
While his wife, who also suffered severe injuries, is still undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Burla. Chief Medical Officer Chief Bolangir S Mishra said that the elderly woman was declared dead when she was taken to the hospital of Bolangir district headquarters.
"The man who was wounded in the blast also died at Ispat General Hospital in Rourkela," he added as quoted from NDTV, Sunday (25/2/2018). The police are currently identifying who gave the gifts to the couple. The police will also check the type of explosives used in the event.
The gift was brought home after the reception and exploded when the couple opened it. "The police have gathered evidence and investigations have been made," Patnagarh Police Sub-Division Police Officer Sesadeva Bariha said.
