"If Jonas can convince me that he is fully recovered and ready to go through 19 or 20 races, take the tests, and manage all the pressure in a season, it will be my decision to convince the team sponsors," Poncharal said.
Poncharal was already ready to face any doubts that may be addressed to the rider.
For your information, Jonas Folger is absent from the MotoGP event due to serious health problems that make him disturbed his liver.
The disease, called Gilbert's Syndrome, has been a source of trouble for Folger's inconsistent appearance during his career as a rider.
Last season, Folger was able to prove his quality and finish in 10th place despite missing the last four races of the season.
"I have no qualms about Jonas's talent, he has an amazing talent, is young, and we need a fast rider like him."
"But, it depends on him and he has to come with a mentally prepared to bear all the pressure during a full season in MotoGP," Poncharal said.
2018 MotoGP will enter the last preseason test at International Circuit, Losail, Qatar on 1-3 March.
